Tougher glass, fewer surprises.

Safety and security window film for homes and businesses on the coast. It bonds to your existing glass so that when a window breaks, the pieces tend to hold together instead of flying, which slows a smash-and-grab or forced entry and adds a layer of storm-debris and UV protection. An affordable upgrade, not a replacement for impact-rated windows.

What it is (and isn't)

A stronger layer on the glass you already have.

Safety and security film is a thick, tear-resistant film that bonds to the inside of your existing windows. Ordinary glass shatters into flying pieces on impact. Filmed glass tends to hold those pieces together in the frame, so a break becomes a spiderweb instead of a hole. That slows down a burglar working a smash-and-grab, makes forced entry harder and louder, and helps keep flying glass and wind-blown debris out during a storm. It's an affordable way to add protection, privacy, and UV control to a house or storefront, and it goes on the windows you already own.

Straight talk: security film is not a code-rated impact or hurricane window, and it does not make your glass hurricane-proof. It won't earn an impact-glass rating or replace shutters where code requires them. What it does is hold broken glass together, resist and slow forced entry, and add a layer of debris and UV protection. Think of it as a strong, affordable upgrade, not a substitute for impact-rated windows.

Where it helps

Three real jobs it does.

Break-in resistance

A smash-and-grab counts on glass giving way in one hit. Filmed glass holds together, so a would-be intruder has to keep working at a loud, stubborn window, which buys time and often sends them looking elsewhere.

Storm-debris mitigation

During a storm, flying debris is what breaks windows. Film helps keep shattered glass held in the frame and adds a layer against wind-blown debris, though it is not a replacement for impact glass or shutters where code calls for them.

UV & comfort

Like our other films, security film blocks more than 99% of UV, which protects flooring, furniture, and merchandise from fade, and it can cut some heat and glare while it's at it.

How we build it

Thicker film, optional anchoring.

Security film is heavier than standard tint, and for a stronger hold it can be anchored to the frame.

Heavy Film
Thicker than standard tint

Safety film is built thicker and more tear-resistant than everyday window tint, so it can keep broken glass bonded together instead of falling apart.

Anchoring
Optional attachment systems

For a stronger hold, the film can be bonded to the window frame with an attachment system so the whole pane stays anchored under load.

Common questions

Security film FAQ.

Does security film make my windows hurricane-proof?

No, and we want to be clear about that. Security film is not a code-rated impact or hurricane window, and it does not make glass hurricane-proof. It holds shattered glass together and adds a layer of debris protection, but it does not replace impact-rated windows or shutters where code requires them. It's an upgrade to the glass you already have, not a substitute for impact glass.

Will it stop a break-in?

It slows one down and deters many. A smash-and-grab depends on the glass caving in fast. Filmed glass tends to hold together, so an intruder has to keep hitting a loud, stubborn window, which takes time and draws attention. It's a strong deterrent, not a guarantee, and it works best as part of your overall security setup.

Does it block UV and help with fading?

Yes. Like our other window films, security film blocks more than 99% of UV, which is the main cause of fading in floors, furniture, and merchandise. Depending on the film you choose, it can also cut some heat and glare.

Can it go on my existing windows?

Yes. That's one of the main advantages. Security film bonds to the inside of the windows you already have, so there's no need to replace the glass. For a stronger hold, it can also be anchored to the frame with an attachment system. We install it on both homes and businesses.
